Post Award Modifications

During the life of an award, changes take place that requirement action.  OSP is available to assist when changes to the award are needed.

  • Budget modification requiring sponsor approval
  • No cost extension requiring sponsor approval
  • Additionally, prior-approvals are generally required by the award sponsor when there is:
    • A change in the scope of work
    • A change in PI
    • A reduction in effort > 25% or more
    • An absence of key personnel from campus for period of 90 days or more
    • A request for ordinarily unallowable as direct costs
    • Equipment acquisition
    • Extra service requests
    • New Subaward
    • Carry forward request
    • Foreign travel
